SUMMARY
When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical? But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid’s life is far less exotic. At least there’s her day job at a local bookstore—free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can’t. But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle’s demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won’t help because Georgina’s about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny…
MY REVIEW
This was the first time I read a book by Richelle Mead and surely it won’t be the last! A friend of mine told me about this series—she’s a huge fan of this author—and talked about it in such a passionate way that didn’t leave me indifferent at all. But the truth is that I didn’t know what I was really expecting from this book until I read the first chapters and then I couldn’t be able to stop thinking about how fascinating it was!
The plot is great even if I had already solved a big part of the mistery at some point… But I wouldn’t focus on that, what I’d love to emphasize is that I don’t know if are the embarrassing situations that keep happening to Georgina (and believe me, they’re more realistic than you can imagine) or all the dialogues between her and the various characters, but I couldn’t help it and laughed every time because of the funny atmosphere! I felt close to Georgina and I found it amazing as much as the male characters. They’re pretty different form each other but they all have some charming characteristics and it’s difficult to have a real aversion to anyone of them. But then of course there are a couple that I particularly liked, the one who I loved the most and one that gained a special sympathy…
This book looks like the first of a great series and I’m looking forward to reading it in all its entire charm.
