They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
His name is Ares, and the fate of mankind rests on his powerful shoulders. If he falls to the forces of evil, the world falls too. As one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, he is far stronger than any mortal, but even he cannot fight his destiny forever. Not when his own brother plots against him.
Yet there is one last hope. Gifted in a way other humans can't-or won't-understand, Cara Thornhart is the key to both this Horseman's safety and his doom. But involving Cara will prove treacherous, even beyond the maddening, dangerous desire that seizes them the moment they meet. For staving off eternal darkness could have a staggering cost: Cara's life.

Larissa Ione is an amazing writer with a very special, great gift. She can create characters whom don’t need to have sex to warm you, they just show up and all you think about is “OMG how I want this man so badly! Please, let him be real!”. Seriously, they’re gorgeous and always have that fascinating way to talk and move that give you chills all over your body. Of course, then they start having sex and you find pretty difficult to think properly . . . But wouldn’t you be disappointed if this wasn’t the case? Yeah, I thought so!

The story is absolutely stunning! I mean, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse? Just reading those words should tell you how intriguing the book can be and, trust me, it really is. In this first instalment of Lords of Deliverance series, the story is focused on Ares, a dangerous, passionate warrior who will become War if his seal breaks. But when he meets Cara, a very respectful and amazing heroine, we learn Ares is more than that. He’s very protective with her and not only because she’s the important key for the Horseman’s safety, he’s fascinated about this woman from the very beginning and he clearly feels something for her. However, he keeps taking a step back every time because he can’t believe a warrior like him—the one who could destroy the entire humanity—can actually care about someone or feel anything for anyone, or at least he shouldn’t. Truth is he can, but he still has to deal with the deep wounds from his past . . .

Since this series is a spin-off, there are many references to the previous one, the Demonica series, and that’s why you could find lots of spoilers if you haven’t read that one yet . . . I personally read only the first book in the Demonica series and I was caught by surprise when I read what had happened in the life of the characters. I really wasn’t expecting to find out so much, but you know what? If you think that this is gonna stop me from reading the Demonica series you’re soooo wrong! Both series are simply amazing and if you’re looking for something captivating and unique you have to read about the entire world Larissa Ione has so wonderfully created. Having said that, I can’t wait to have Immortal Rider in my hands!!
