REMEMBER THE STARS
(A 12,000 words Novella)

For Leah Rhodes, life as she knows it has just changed forever.
Waking in a gutter in the dark surroundings of her distant past, a familiar man stands out in her confusion.
But Remy Moreland has been dead for years.
It soon becomes apparent to Leah that both she and Remy are trapped in a hell of their own making.
Can one night together not only lead to the way out, but to love as well?

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

GUEST POST & GIVEAWAY
Long or Short…How Do You Prefer Your Stories?

This past November, I attended the Festival of Romance here in the United Kingdom. I was a finalist for the Festival of Romance Reader’s Awards for two of my contemporary stories.

While I was there, I engaged in a conversation with two other authors on story length. I explained that I write short, 40,000 words and under. This mirrors what I like to read and review. These authors as well, wrote fairly short works.
This conversation led me to hold an informal poll among the attendees, both readers and writers. It surprised me to find out that after I did all of the calculations, the average of the poll was 50,000 words.

I had always been under the impression that most people enjoyed the long 100,000 + stories.

But with the popularity and affordability of e-publishing, readers can obtain any length of story in any genre these days, which in my opinion makes it a win-win situation for authors and readers alike.

Time also seems to get a be a big factor these days. Let’s face it, we all lead busy lives. For me, I’m writing, reviewing, and trying to read while I’m keeping a house and family going along with some attention to my own hobbies. My TBR pile continues to grow, and I find I need to contain it to stories under 30,000 words. Would I like to read longer books? Of course! I have two John Saul books staring at me right now from across the room that I’ve read exactly two pages of in the last month!

So what about you? What do you like to read and how long do you like your stories?

I just got my Kindle a few months ago and I'm still in the honeymoon stage. I read nearly everything I can get into my Kindle! I love it! I do tend to enjoy longer novels however novellas definitely have their place!
