THE RETRIBUTION OF MARA DYER BY MICHELLE HODKIN

SERIES: Mara Dyer #3
PUBLISHER: Simon Pulse
GENRE: YA Paranormal
SOURCE: Gifted

SUMMARY
Mara Dyer had no idea that it would end like this. She desperately wants to believe that there’s more to the lies she’s been told and doesn’t stop to think about where her quest for the truth might lead. She never gave much thought before to how far she would go for vengeance, but with loyalties betrayed, guilt and innocence tangle, and when fate and chance collide it seems the time for retribution has arrived.

MY REVIEW

Have you ever suffered from a book hangover? It’s bad, isn’t it? And yet, it’s something every reader hopes to experience at least once in their life. Might be the masochist in us, or the dreamer, sometimes it’s hard to differentiate them. Nevertheless, I got mine thanks to Mara Dyer & her ‘gang’.

I can’t believe my time with this trilogy has come to an end, but I’m also really pleased with how things wrapped up, and thankful for every minute I spent in the company of such freaking unique characters. I laughed, hard, which seems impossible to do considering the extreme danger faced here and the actions people take in order to survive/escape yet, I dare you to contain a laugh here and there! I loved this as much as I loved how screwed up this story is. You think you have figured out something just to have that taken away a few pages (moments?) later. However, the same question accompanies you through the whole journey… Who the hell is the bad guy? When Michelle Hodkin points that out and you read the very end, an ‘I’ll be damned’ and a smirk on your face will hit you. BAM! Book hangover.

Creepy, funny, and addictive. My only regret is to have waited so long to read the books, so to fans of YA, paranormal and yes, even horror stories, I’d suggest to go grab the trilogy and get the creeps out of it!
