Here’s what inspires me this week . . .

I’ve always preferred salted to sweets, still do, so the reason why I’m sharing this cake has nothing to do with my palate taste but everything with art and my first love . . .

Art -> How can you not be fascinated by such a (literally) piece of art!?! I have a deep admiration for those artists but I swear, fan of sweets or not, I don’t know if I’d have the heart to eat and destroy such a beauty . . .

First love -> Cinema. My Grandma has worked with montage when she was a teenager and I developed this passion as much as her love for books as well. I lost count of the classic movies we saw together every afternoon since I was a child and the passion for the big screen never left me. At some point I even took a degree in Event Management for Cinema and TV. Who would have ever guessed, huh? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here it is, this is why I can’t take my eyes off of this awesome cake!

What do you think? And what inspires you?

That is a WONDERFUL cake, and I agree that it is just you ๐Ÿ™‚ I'm sure you'll get a cake like this sooner or later… ;P

That what's awesome! I used to want to be a cake decorator for this exact thing. I love that you can make art out of cake. The only thing is I hate fondant. I think its so gross. lol Definitely big drops to the person who make this.

I share your love for art and cinema. And I would be so sorry for eating this cake!! Yet, at the same time, I craving for a bite, just to know how it tastes. But really, this is wonderful. I do admire people who can make such amazing art pieces with cake.

  4. I think cake decorator is an amazing and very inspiring job!
I wanted to leave a comment on your blog Jess, but I can't do it because of the Google+ restriction ๐Ÿ™ … Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I think you found a very lovely idea!

  5. that is sooo awesome that you have a degree in event management for Cinema and TV !!! that is so cool . I love Tv and movies .. books as well obviously, but there is nothing like curling up on the sofa watching a good movie. And that cake is amazing. i would have a suer hard time eating that .. ever! – great inspiration – Katie

  6. Happy you like this inspiration so much Katie! Yep, that is cool and, besides curling up on the sofa watching movies (also cool!), I even experienced working in Festivals and Conventions. It is stressful, believe me, but pretty awesome! Anyway, I always loved reading and, with a critique background (courtesy of my studies), I decided to go wild with book reviews. And I suppose all this should sum up well why I can't just answer yes or no to a simple question like "did you like it?", lol
