ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Elle J Rossi grew up in rural Indiana surrounded by great people, a huge family and more animals than she could count. But the sites and sounds of the world beckoned, so she left her small town to escape into a creative world full of music. As a full time singer she was able to lose herself in a thousand different songs in a hundred different places. After meeting the love of her life and settling down, she yearned to find a new and fulfilling creative outlet. Overly fond of the happily ever after, she wondered what it would be like to have her own characters lead her down dark and twisted paths. The very first word on the very first page sealed her fate. She’d found a new love. She’d found her escape. Now along with weaving haunting tales about the journey to love, she’s creating cover art for authors around the world and loving every second of it. For fun, she cranks country music to take her back to her roots, and sings karaoke anytime she gets a chance. Her husband, two children, and a cat that rules the roost keep her company along the way and guarantee she doesn’t get lost in the enchanted forest. She wouldn’t have it any other way.

GUEST POST & GIVEAWAY
Breathing in the Power

I’m often asked how I manage to do all that I do. Working a full time job, being a mom, wife, cover artist, and author are my main jobs. There are too many side jobs to name. I like to think I have Wonder Woman powers, and perhaps I do. But mainly I do it because I have drive. Drive, goals, dreams, aspirations, bigger thoughts… Whatever you want to call them, they don’t come easy, and they sure as hell don’t plop in your lap just because you wish it so. Though, trust me, I have tried out a magick potion or two.

I shuffle, juggle, shimmy, dodge, bob and weave to make it all happen. But lately, I’ve noticed I’m a little off balance. The scales have tipped too far to one side. I’ve been so busy, I’ve forgotten how to breathe, to live, to simply be. That, my friends, is a mistake. No matter what we want and how much we want it, family and life have to come first. We have to take the time to smell the proverbial roses, have a good belly laugh, and soak up the sun while sipping lemonade.

I took the month of November to do just that. I’m glad I did. I read, watched movies, played board games with the family, decorated for the holidays, and read some more. Lots and lots of books. I’m better for it. I’m beyond inspired to tackle the world again. All the worlds…including those I create.

All I need now is a pair of these shoes to propel into the bright New Year!
How about you? When was the last time you took a moment to breathe?
