Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat.
Let’s talk about non-bookish topics, so we get to know each other on a more personal level.
This week’s topic: WHERE I LIVE
I was born and raised in Rome, Italy, but a few years ago I moved to London, and I recently celebrated six years in UK. Wow, where did the time go? I spent four years in the big city before deciding to leave the chaotic and expensive life to live a more quiet one in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
As you can see from the picture on the left, Peterborough is a Cathedral City. Isn’t it gorgeous? And you should see the gardens, once Spring kicks in, they’re quite breathtaking . . . Add to this a special Museum, history around every corner and ghost stories—yeah you heard that right, we have ghosts!—and you know you’re in for an awesome treat!
My house is just fifteen/twenty minutes by foot away from the centre and, being so close to it, I pretty much have everything I need at hand: a very big shopping centre + a smaller one with my fave store—think everything gothic and you’ll get it!—a bookstore—which every bookworm would be lost without—Starbucks, great places to go eat, etc.
Nevertheless, what I love the most is the fact that here they organise lots of events, so you’re always entertained with different stalls I like to spend my time looking at. Ok, possibly buy things, too! 😛 Then, especially at this time of year, you can only be completely captivated by the atmosphere <3
Last but not least, I’m surrounded by green and water, and it’s all very peaceful and quite relaxing . . . So, how could I not be happy to have moved here?
Very pretty. I visited London when I was about 12. We didn't live the city. I would like to see more of the countryside in the UK. It is such a pretty country. Thanks for sharing pictures.
I just want you to know I'm kinda jealous. 😉 Peterborough looks lovely. I love the green and the water. I really hope to visit England some day.
I live in the North East, and from my perspective it looks like everything happens down South! But Peterborough is a lovely place, I think I've visited there before, but I might not be remembering things properly.
It looks beautiful, Silvia! And I can completely understand moving away from your home-town and country, just to fall in love with another place all together.
I hope you'll continue to enjoy life in the UK 🙂
Have a terrific weekend 🙂
wow it looks really beautiful with all the place to discover. I'm still in my city and never moved out. I tried to look for a Ph.D somewhere else but I found one in my city so I finally stayed.
What a stunning place to live Silvia! I'm in awe. We just don't have places like that here. Thank so much for sharing bits of your life with us!
Hmm, I need to pack my bags and come visit. We can shop, drink coffee in the villa and walk around the lack.
So pretty! It's nice to live near the center, easy to get to everything 🙂
It really is 🙂
Sorry about that, Melissa, I wish I could bring some green and quite the view over to you! x Glad to hear from you, btw 🙂
