Fate. Hate. Love. Lies.
Which four letter word will change their lives forever?

Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.
Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate-until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .

I didn’t know what I was getting into when I started this book, what I did know was that the title instantly caught my attention and I really wanted to know what the four letter word was—because opting just for the obvious one would be a mistake—and how it would play out.

Let me tell you, the author did a very good job with the concept of the title, clever and refreshing. The premise is catchy, the dynamic of Sydney and Brian’s meeting is certainly engaging and it makes you root for them. I honestly couldn’t wait to see how a oops-wrong-number conversation over the phone developed into something deep. However, I have to say that I liked the waiting part better than when they started seeing each other in person. Don’t get me wrong, Syd and Brian have quite the chemistry going on, it’s undeniable, but I kinda felt disconnected all of a sudden. Even with the steamy scenes, it all felt a bit flat to me. Also, the conflict only comes towards the end where, in my opinion, we find a too easy resolution.

Overall, it wasn’t one of my fave reads, but I can’t say it was bad either. I loved the first part of the book and there are things after that I still enjoyed, and a couple of secondary characters that surely helped with that. So much so that I’m thinking about reading the next instalment to see how these two figure things out.
