I live in a world few know exist. I've trained for this. I know what to say, what to do, and how to act. I've perfected the lethal calm required for this life.
Now it's time to buy my first girl. But all it takes is one look at the brave girl who starts singing mid-auction for that calm to slip.
Briar Chapman is going to be the death of me, and I don't care. I'll take every day until that death comes, and I'll welcome it when it does.

On the outside, Lucas Holt is what nightmares are made of. A man cloaked in darkness, with sin-filled eyes and an enticing grin. As devil so devastatingly beautiful and cruel that his very presence instils fear.
But beneath his terrifying, every-calm exterior is an affectionate man haunted by a past that refuses to stay buried. And Lucas looks at me as though he's finally found the only person who can make it all go away.
We're in a battle of the brightest day and the darkest night—and I want to lie in the wake of our war.

When the UK Publisher sent me this ARC, I honestly didn’t know what to expect because it was the first time I stumbled upon a Molly McAdams book. Weird? Perhaps. Lucky? Absolutely. I mean, I also received complimentary temporary tattoos similar to the birds you see on the cover! However, those were just a—super cool—bonus, the real winner here is the story.

If you are up for dark, be prepared to find darker. Blackbird consumes you from the very beginning with something terrifying that turns your world—and mind—upside down. I read every page with an intensity that sometimes made me doubt myself. Am I bad? No, I positively despise the actions of those men and what they do, so I know I’m not. Then why am I so enthralled by everything that is going on? I’ll tell you why, McAdams is the devil. A devil you’ll want to dance with. I sinfully lust for Lucas, got mad, agitated, emotional and, in the process, embraced the darkness Lucas Holt is . . . But, could he be more?

I loved this story, the way it was told, how it involved me but got me conflicted, and the fact I still replay scenes in my mind. Grab it, read it and regret nothing!
