Risa Jones, half-Aedh/half-werewolf, can enter the realm between life and death. She can speak to the dying and the dead, and she can see the Reapers, collectors of souls. What she cannot yet see is the identity of a stranger murdering women and draining their blood. Now Risa must summon her gifts to find him, even if it means putting her own life in danger. But Risa needn't look far. The killer knows who she is. He tells her his victims are infected by darkness and he's fated to destroy them. Fascinated by Risa, he engages her in a sinister game: the chance to save the life of his next victim by deciphering his series of clues. In a race against time, she enlists the help of the Reaper Azriel. But as an attraction between them grows, so does the fear that the stranger's motives are only part of a larger, more dangerous scheme - one that has lured Risa and Azriel into the dark.

To trust or not to trust Lucian? This is the question, the one I inevitable asked myself from the moment he made his very first appearance. He undoubtedly plays the handsomeness card so well that he ends up seducing both Risa and the reader every time—damn him!—but still, I’ve always thought Azriel was right about him . . . the Aedh lies. But how can we be 100% sure of it? Risa surely has some serious thinking to do in this instalment and, with all the things going on in her mind and her life, no doubts she’s having a very hard time, so her confusion is more than understandable.

As usual, seeing some of the old characters—from Riley Jenson Guardian series—made me freaking joyful, but I must say that in this case I particularly loved to see a couple of my favourite boys in action . . . No names, but here are some grins, like the ones I kept having on my face thanks to Azriel! I kinda melted because of a few things he said, and then I sighed a lot . . . out of frustration! Thankfully I have the other instalment right here with me, so at least I won’t be frustrated for having to wait to know how things are going to develop, phew!

Another gorgeous book in a series that really has the key to intrigue the readers, keep them interested and make them have a wonderful time!
