The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals—well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.
Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1: Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem—staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is.
If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.
This is one book to remember, THE ONE you definitely wanna read and re-read. You can’t get bored even for a second, many things happen, the action is present for almost the entire book and charming characters keep appearing from nowhere. You can try, but you won’t be able to put this book down. You keep asking yourself “what is it going to happen in the next chapter? What will be Alex’s next move?” And here’s the best part, when Alex feels pain you feel it as well, and if she laughs or says something funny/sarcastic, you’re gonna smile/grin. Is she practising? You wanna go to the gym and start kicking some ass! Is she flirting or thinking of doing it? You’ll be in the mood! And it would be better if Aiden was in the nearby . . .
I had goosebumps and I even felt myself blushing in more than one occasion . . . Sometimes I felt like I was about to cry, sometimes like I couldn’t stop laughing. Every kind of emotion is there, ready to jump on you, and the amazing writing skills of the author are what makes this happen.
I really don’t know how to describe the feeling I had and still have after I finished it. All I can say is the Gods know how this book is perfect! A totally MUST READ!!
