When Nora and Patch are forced together as lab partners, Nora would rather fall to her death than put up with his elusive answers to her questions, his teasing, and his infuriatingly handsome face and hypnotizing eyes. It seems Patch was put on earth just to drive her crazy.
But before long, Nora's defenses start to break down as her curiosity about Patch heats up. Why does he always seem to be wherever she is and know exactly what she's thinking? How does he know what to say to both attract and repulse her? And what is up with those V-shaped scars on his chiseled back?
As their connection grows stronger, Nora's own life becomes increasingly fragile. Nora needs to decide: Is Patch the one who wants to do her harm or the one who will keep her safe? Has she fallen for one of the fallen?
When my best friend told me this was one of the best books she had read this year, describing it like something I’d surely appreciate a lot, I couldn’t resist and borrowed it.
Honestly, I can’t criticize this book, it’s simply amazing! I loved the plot and the scary, mysterious atmosphere that makes so difficult to put it down. It all sounds like an horror/thriller movie and I actually think it would be spectacular to see this story on the big screen! The characters are all well defined and I have to say that I felt particularly close to Nora. Could it be because of the anaemia? Sure, add to this some of her traits and you’ll have a first idea of who is writing this review . . . Speaking of main characters, what about Patch? Bad-ass, hot, mysterious with lots of that sarcasm that gives you goosebumps . . . I personally found him more like an Adult character than a YA one and that was the real, pleasant surprise! I dare all of you girls not to fall in love with him from the very beginning.
So, Fitzpatrick, it seems like your books and I are going to spend some good quality time together!
I told you it was worth the read!
Gosh if you were right, Franny!! Thanks for the suggestion and the great review you previously wrote! xx
This one is in a pile of books…somewhere in my house! I need to pull it out and read it!
Thanks for the great review!
