SUMMARY
Theo MacLeod wasn’t supposed to be the one. Tall, dark and handsome suits me just fine, but the cocky grin, know-it-all attitude, and mammoth ego? No thanks. I only hired him so I wouldn’t have to sit at the singles table again. It was just pretend. He wasn’t supposed to kiss me. My heart wasn’t supposed to pound. We weren’t supposed to spend the night together—the hottest night of my life. One night turns into a snowed-in weekend away, and even the blizzard of the century can’t cool the fire between us. I can’t get enough—of his smile, of his body, of the way he makes me feel. We’re nothing alike. He’s a daredevil, and I’m a nervous Nellie. He’s a drifter, and I want to put down roots. He’s an opportunist with a checkered past, and I’m a Girl Scout volunteer. But none of it matters when I’m in his arms. I know he’s made mistakes. I know his wounds are deep, and he doesn’t trust easily. I know he doesn’t believe he could ever be enough to make me happy, but he could. All he has to do is stay.

MY REVIEW

I didn’t notice this book was part of a series when I grabbed it. I’m kinda glad it is because I didn’t just love this couple, but the others in here as well. I’m curious to know their backgrounds and how they met in the first place now, so it’s safe to say the author did a very good job!

Theo and Clare couldn’t be more different, but they have something in common: fear. Although not the same, fear plays a big role in their respective lives, either because of a career path, or because of love. As an artist myself, I get Clare more than I’d like, but that is surely what made me connect with her on a personal level and say jump in the same way I have to repeat it to myself… The struggle is real! And so is the one Theo has letting people in and accepting he deserves to be loved. Thankfully, sometimes magic happens and when chemistry—the real deal—sparks, two people come to terms with who they are and the person they want to be, so expect more than just steamy rolling in the sheets.

Romance readers, I’d honestly suggest you to grab this book, it’s not just a lovely read, it also has a fairy-tale halo that is guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and perhaps even a blush on your cheeks.

RATING: 4/5
