Perry Palomino has fought her demons—and won—but the battle is far from over. She’s now left broken and on her own, leaving behind her life and family in Portland to focus on giving Dex Foray—and the Experiment in Terror show—a second chance. But their past mistakes continue to tease and test their relationship, as does the wild and desolate terrain of the Canadian Rockies.
The snow-covered peaks and ravenous forests hide an urban legend too unbelievably frightening to be true and the only way the duo has a chance of surviving is if Perry can let in the very man who sent her to hell and back.
What an adventure, and with no ghost involved but a legend/myth! Even though this instalment may be considered less creepy than the others, never say a Bigfoot doesn’t give you shivers. So I suppose having a Dex 2.0 is comforting in this scenario. Dex 2.0? You heard it right, something happened and both our hero and heroine are different in some way . . . But, more importantly, they’re a Team again and the old Dex and Perry seem to be back and ready to make you laugh even in inappropriate moments. You gotta love that!
Thanks to a beautiful narration, we get a huge adrenaline rush throughout the action scenes, and all the sexual tension—which is a lot!—mixed to angst sometimes really tears you apart. Badly. Having been in Dex’s mind (The Dex-Files) helped me understand him better and feel his pain, so I saw his point here and, I’m sorry Perry, but for once I’m taking his side.
Leave it to Karina Halle to make you all giddy and warmed up a moment and a complete mess another. Leave it to me to pick the next instalment without even thinking about it!
OMG, I just remembered what it was about!! Loved the story (even though it's not my favourite) and I LOVE your review!!
I had a lot of the same thoughts and opinions when i read this book a while back! Great review 🙂
Oh that's nice, I love a good myth in stories. It must be so interesting to understand the characters like that.
Thanks, Franny! I know this one wasn't your favourite, but I also know how much you cheer Dex and Perry and that makes me soooo happy! 😀
Really? I'm glad to hear we're on the same page then, Lily! 🙂
And a Bigfoot nevertheless! Those two are quite a pair, let me tell you. When you find a way to be in both their minds, you see their reasons quite clearly and taking sides can be tricky for the reader. I like that and I surely LOVE the whole series!
Oh this sounds like an amazing blend of romance and action. I love that! 🙂 Thank you.
I really need to get around to reading these! Sounds like I would enjoy them.
It has both in abundance. I hope you'll read the series, Melissa!
Hope you will, I can't get enough of EIT!!
Oh Silvia, you're really making me wish I could read this series right now! I'm glad you're enjoying it so much though. I'm glad that The Dex-Files helped in your understanding of Dex. Gah! I'm just so intrigued!
Embrace yourself then, Brandee, because more reviews for this series are coming, and so is lots of love for Dex!
This sounds like a great series Silvia. And it is great to see that you enjoyed this installment. Fab review!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
It's an AMAZING series and I hope you'll give it a go, Naomi!
Never heard of this author or series but it must be good if it is on book 6 🙂 Great to see you still enjoying it. The cover is a tad creepy to me….
Chanzie @ Mean Who You Are.
This is one of the best NA Paranormal series I have ever read, and if the cover gave you the creeps, than it's just doing its job properly! 😉
