Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat.
Let’s talk about non-bookish topics, so we get to know each other on a more personal level.
This week’s topic: ORGANIZATION
Oh, come on! Hands up who still doesn’t know I’m extremely well organised. Anyone? Because if so, I need to update the statistic on my notebook or I won’t sleep well knowing the number doesn’t match the reality. 😛
Seriously, organization is a big part of who I am. It’s both my job and my life. Yes, I love being organised and I don’t think that is bad at all.
People can point out it’s an obsession as much as they want, and perhaps they’re right—read my post about quirks—but how is it that they LOVE how I keep things and they always end up telling me ‘God, I wish I could be as much organised as you‘? Not so weird after all, huh? And it’s all very rewarding because, every time someone comes visit me, they feel homey and they don’t wanna leave. Ever. So *high-five* to this Monica! 😉
But I believe that what most of you really want to know is how I keep organised my bookshelves. So here’s how I rule the book world: I keep everything in alphabetical order (by authors’ surname), BUT I have different shelves for the various genres—kind of library style.
I have the Paranormal section—which is the biggest so far—on a three full bookshelves in the living room. Near this section there’s also the one for Contemporary/Erotic Romance, which is smaller but oh, how pretty. The Historical Romance has a lovely high bookshelf in a nook I created close to the living room. On the other side of the nook I have a bookshelf with Manga and also keep a special section for New Adult books. Like this wasn’t enough—pfft, there is never such thing as enough books/bookshelves—I do have one near the kitchen with, obviously, Cookbooks. Plus, I have some of my Italian books that make for the International section.
So here you have it, my heavenly seven . . .
Monica is the epitome of organized, but you're doing very well too 😉 My personal addiction is making lists !
Yeah, it's important to be organized, both in life and at work, and I can't stand having to search for books! I have mostly kindle books, but my kindle is organized too, by genre, by author, by ARC, by challenge… you name it 🙂
Great post, Silvia.
Enjoy your weekend!
I'm trying to be organized but as I'm not in life it's quite complicated lol with everythong.
I'm so an organizer too. I love all the ways people set up their books 😀
*raises hand* Organization is my thing..everything has a place, even the remotes for the TV have their own tray. Yep…it makes my world go round..well that and coffee.
I like being organized as well, drives me crazy if I'm not lol
I believe no one can really be as precious as Monica, but my friends and family still like to go with that nickname for me at times. And yet, I take that as a compliment, LOL
I don't have that kind of 'extended' organization on my Kindle (although it is organised, of course), but that's just because I mostly have printed books. Good to hear you keep yours so well, Lexxie! 🙂
Melliane, you do realise you just made me want to come over and start going crazy re-arranging things for you, right? 😛
Thumbs up for organised peeps! 😉
Bless you, Kimberly! I thought I was the only one who had to have the remotes for the TV in a certain position . . . That and other 500 things, obviously . . . 😛
It literally drives me mad, so I can very well understand you!
lol. I like to be organized as well. I usually keep read and unread books separate, even it same series. Then I organize by favorites and down to the bottom. I have paranormal in one area and fantasy in another area. lol. I think it's neatly put together, which speaking of… I think I feel a reshelving coming on. ;D
Due to my LOVE for organising and re-arranging things, I kinda envy you right know, Melissa. 😉
My bookshelves are one of the few areas of my life that are organized, Silvia! LOL I wish I were more organized though…really I do. But my brain must have a disconnect there. I'm glad you are organized and can serve as inspiration. 🙂
*blushes* Indeed, I'm super-organised and, if I could, I would get a plane to come to your rescue, Brandee!!
