Life of a Blogger: Tattoos

Life of a Blogger is a weekly feature hosted by Jessi @ Novel Heartbeat.
Let’s talk about non-bookish topics, so we get to know each other on a more personal level.

This week’s topic: TATTOOS

I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I’m a tattoo virgin . . .

I do like them and I thought many times to get a tattoo, but then always refrained myself. It’s not because I’m afraid—even though needles are not the best of friends to me—it’s just that I want a design that really means something to me. I don’t want to have something permanent on my skin that I will regret at some point and, since I’m a tiny bit of a perfectionist, I’m taking my time. I already have some ideas, of course, I just need to elaborate those and decide once and for all if I’m going to design it myself or ask a friend to do that for me. *The beauty of not to just being an artist yourself but knowing other talented ones*

What I know for sure is that I would like one either on my lower back or on my wrist. Perhaps both, who knows? Better start making my mind up, huh? 😉

I'm so glad we're on the same page, although I wouldn't want one on my lower back. When the time is right I'm sure we will be convinced and the only problem will be saving up! 🙂

  2. Sometimes I wish I were brave enough to get a tattoo, but sadly, I'm not. I think they are very pretty and some are even breathtaking, I can't believe they do it with a needle! For now, I'll just stay happy admiring them from afar. Show us some pics when you finally decide on one!

  3. Ahhh me too! But I'm good skipping them myself. I love tattoos on men though. I just have a serious thing about needles and no way I could go through with it. Way too chicken. I think waiting until you have the perfect design that's right for you is def the way to go. Have seen friends with some oh so what were you thinking ones. lol

  4. I love tattoos! And don't worry, I was a tattoo virgin until I was 42 years old 🙂 But then, I got two within six months 😉
One is an infinity sign on my ring finger (my hubby got one, too) And the other is a bracelet with my kids' names. I love both of them, and am thinking of getting yet another tattoo, now. It's kind of addictive…

  5. Anna, you should see my face when someone (called Doctor) even thinks of prescribing me something to be injected with a needle. Thankfully, that happened just when I was little, then every medication prescribed has always been in the form of drops or pills. So far. Let's keep it that way, shall we? I'm not even going to start telling you when I have to go take a blood test… *shivers* Anyway, my mind processes this kind of needle differently so, I'm confident I can do it. Fingers crossed it's not the pain that will scare me off in the end, LOL

  6. That's good to know, Lexxie! I thought about something similar to your bracelet, but it's still in the processing phase…We'll see 😉
On a curious note, I may not have a tattoo yet, but I do have an infinity ring! 🙂

  7. LOL it's so funny how we all are. Last time I had my blood drawn was for my life insurance and I was such a blubbering mess we had it written into my policy that they'd never have it tested again. Ever. I was such a baby. But I'm okay with that. lol

I can handle piercings though. I've had multiple–ear/tongue–and can get through those some hose. But a shot or blood drawn no ma'am! And tattoos somehow fall into that category too. heh

Ah me, too! I agree, I think I might want one someday, but i definitely want one with some meaning. One day that perfect design will hopefully come up you! I think I would like one on my foot (but I heard it hurts a lot haha) or maybe my should blade.

  9. That's awesome, Sivlia! I love that symbol, because it is beautiful, and I think that infinity is both hard and easy to grasp at the same time.
The good thing about my tattoos is that if I go someplace where tattoos are really frowned upon, I can put on a ring and a bracelet, and noone will be the wiser 😉

  10. That's good! It's great when you find the perfect one for you that means something special, and I'm glad you have yours 🙂 I will totally take my time until I know I'm 100% sure, no worries!

  11. Hehe, when I read your post I was "Oh, great! Someone on my same page!" 🙂
I don't know about the foot (I imagine it must quite hurt), but the shoulder blade sounds like an appealing spot to me 😉

  12. I LOVE that symbol, too!
I really didn't think about that but you're right, you just need a ring and a bracelet and *poof* 🙂 Although I have no doubts you prefer to show them, it would be the same for me 😉

Oh I waited years before I got mine. I still wanted it and went for it last year. I'm thrilled with it. I got it on my calf, where I can show it off or cover it for work. 🙂 Hope you find that perfect design for yourself. 🙂

  14. I have one tattoo, that means something to me 🙂 Just take your time on deciding, it's permanent unless you do the removal process which I hear is WAYYY more painful than getting it.
