Amateur ghost hunter Perry Palomino has battled ghosts fought off skin-walkers and skirted the fine line between life and death. But can she survive bunking down in Seattle for a week with her partner (and the man she secretly loves) Dex and his perfect girlfriend Jennifer? And can she do so while being tormented by a malicious spirit from Dex’s increasingly shady past? With love and life in the balance Perry must discover the truth among the lies or risk losing everything she’s ever cared about.
As soon as I read the blurb, I suspected some emotional state was assured with this read. Then, is there a time with Dex and Perry when I don’t get emotional? Really? Still, I wouldn’t/couldn’t have imagined something so dangerously strong was about to hit me. Hard. Right through the heart.
Past and present mix well here and while a few pieces of the puzzle finally fit together, bringing some light—and the creeps altogether—the present may show some very dark clouds at the horizon . . . Big revelations have been put on the plate and not so wise decisions have been taken, but surely nothing is lost, right? I don’t know if it was all the tension building—here at its highest—or the roller-coaster of emotions running especially towards the end, but I was so overwhelmed that, at some point, I couldn’t handle the tears anymore. Thanks to the new characters for a nice/fun distraction. I’m really hoping to see them in other instalments, they have such great personalities that make me so want to hang out with them all! Except for Jenn, of course. Get her out of the picture and I would never want to leave Seattle.
Touching and creepily fascinating, Lying Season was that instalment I was waiting for to really get how passionate and far gone with this series I am. Also, if you reached the final page of this novel, you can totally understand why picking up the next book right away is practically inevitable!
Ooo i have failed *headdesk* I have book one and two sitting in my TBR pile when I could be squeeing over this with you! Awesome review!
I have the first two books on my kindle, and I have no idea why I haven't started reading yet, Silvia. I'm like Kim, I could totally be squeeing with you! I think I need a year off from school, to only read for fun 😉
I hope you're having a great week.

I haven't heard of this series but it sounds good 🙂 So happy to hear you loved it and sometimes we just need a good 'passionate read'

And it makes you squee more with every instalment, Kimberly, trust me!
In the past couple of weeks, I devoured 7 instalments (4 novels and 3 novellas) and I'm about to start the 8th. This is how amazingly good and addictive I consider EIT series, Lexxie! 😉
I literally can't stop reading it! Too bad I'm about to start the penultimate book in the series, I'm going to miss these characters terribly when I reach the end… *sigh*
