Abigail Mercer was thrilled at being reunited with Spencer Law, whom she met once and later married by proxy. But now Viscount Ravenswood denies all knowledge of their union! Too many witnesses have made it impossible for the secretive Spencer to reject his bride without causing a scandal. So he has proposed a marriage in name only until they can locate his mysteriously absent younger brotherโwho is responsible for everything!โand untangle this messy affair.
Abigail is incensed, irate . . . and irresistibly attracted to this handsome, infuriating man who hides his smoldering passion behind a proper exterior. So the lady will agree to his terms on one condition: Spencer must seal their bargain with a kiss. But he finds that one deep, lingering, unforgettable kiss isn't nearly enough. And keeping his hands off his pretty wife is going to be much harder than he thought.
I hadn’t read anything by Sabrina Jeffries until this book came my way and, I must say, I had a fantastic time. I’m also glad that not having read the previous instalments in the series didn’t prevent me to completely fall for both story and characters in any way.
Spencer and Abby are wonderful. The chemistry is there from the very beginning, the sexual tension keeps building during the whole read and, although they try not to let their passion take over, just a kiss can make both of their heads spin. And the readers’ heart beat faster . . . But things aren’t easy (our hero certainly is anything but), those two are basically forced into a marriage they didn’t ask forโor someone ‘unknowingly’ did?โand among twists and turns they have to try hard not to fall apart. Avoiding to fall for each other is even harder, but our Viscount is a stubborn man and Abigail may have to endure more than what she had planned . . .
From arguments to misunderstandings, passion escalating quickly, gorgeous exchange of flirtatious lines and moments of real sweetness, this book has dreamy entertainment written all over!
Woots! I love that. She's one of my favorites. So glad you were able to give her a try and enjoyed it. She does a great job of making books pretty standalone even when in a series which is nice ๐
I'm not a fan of historical romance, but they always sound good. Will have to tell Drea about this one ๐
lol. Dreamy entertainment, I like that idea. ๐ thank you.
I got that after reading your last review for one of her titles, Anna. ๐ Rest assured I plan on reading more of her books because I really like her writing style!
They truly are! And I think Drea could really enjoy this, Melissa ๐
Same here, and I can't wait for you to get to Spencer and Abby's story, Kimberly!
I'm very glad you like my choice of words, Melissa, hopefully you will enjoy the book as well! ๐
Sabrina Jeffries is on my must read list, Silvia. I actually met her and picked up several of her books a few years ago at a convention. But I *still* haven't cracked open one of her books. So it thrills me to see you had such a good time with your introduction to her. I like the sound of the interactions between Spencer and Abby…brewing up all that sexual tension. I love that in HR. ๐
That is great, Brandee! I love that especially in HR, too, and I hope you'll get the chance to read one of her books soon ๐
