The world knows Samantha Brooks as the violin prodigy. She guards her secret truth—the desire she harbors for her guardian.
Liam North got custody of her six years ago. She’s all grown up now, but he still treats her like a child. No matter how much he wants her.
No matter how bad he aches for one taste.
Her sweet overtures break down the ex-soldier’s defenses, but there’s more at stake than her body. Every touch, every kiss, every night. The closer she gets, the more exposed his darkest secret.
She’s one step away from finding out what happened the night she lost her family. One step away from leaving him forever.
When in doubt, pick a Skye Warren’s book. No, just pick—the whole bunch of them—one anytime, because you can’t really go wrong with her stories if you are a dark romance reader.
Trust Skye Warren to come up with a taboo topic and turn it into a—more than—alluring story. Intense, sensual, and captivating are just a few ways to describe this book. The plot thickens when you least expect it, every minor character is equally charming and has a possible story to tell—please, do tell!—and both Samantha’s and Liam’s lustful thoughts constantly invade your own mind, begging to become reality. Can they? Should they? *insert nods and grins* Also, just because you can’t hear the music, it doesn’t mean you can’t feel it. In fact, I’d say the music references/curiosities and the violin’s tune add the extra sensuality that makes dangerous, deepest desires even more scorching . . .
Lustfully twisted, Overture is a melodic opening to a forbidden romance that will arouse your mind and make you curse if you don’t have the rest of the series at hand!
I know how much you love Sky Warren’s books, and this looks very intriguing! Your beautiful words always sell the books you read to us, and I can’t wait to dive into this one as well!
Aww, that means the world to me, Fran!! ❤️
*squeee* I’m so glad you enjoyed this book. It’s one of my favorites. Also reminds me I still need to read book 2.
YAY! We should both remedy to that, Stephanie 😉
I don’t think I’ve ever tried a dark romance, but it’s awesome to have a go to author.
It sure is, and dark romance is one of my fave genres to read, so I adore when one works this well!
I’m not that much for forbidden romance but maybe I should try more
I get it’s not for everyone, but if you ever decide to try some more, I hope Skye Warren’s books will do the trick for you 🙂
This sounds like a fun read! I should definitely squeeze a romance in soon! Cheers!
Intense is a better word for this kind of read, if you are into forbidden romance and dark themes, then this is an author that should be on your list!
Does the author have a talent for turning taboo topics into somehting alluring? Bc I have to admit that is certainly a tantalising tease in regards to her work!
Yes, yes, she does! It’s not my ‘first ride’ with her books—in fact, I read everything she publishes—and she really has the power of captivating her readers with dark subjects and twisted stories. She writes for a dark romance audience and she definitely knows how to do that, so I always recommend her to readers of that genre.
I have not read this author yet. I am not sure how I feel about the idea behind this romance but it sounds like the author made it work. I do like books that include musical references so that would be a plus.
I get it’s not for everyone but yes, she made it work well in my opinion + I found the violin being refreshing, and it definitely goes well with the pace of the book.
Twisted is always good haha. Sounds like a fun one. 🙂
I’m all for dark and twisted, hehe 😉
Oh wow what an intriguing review! I want to know more 🙂 So glad you enjoyed this one. I haven’t heard of this author until now. thanks for the introduction!
My pleasure, she is one of my personal fave authors in this genre, her books are always great to read!
