In order to save his friend's life, Wyr sentinel Rune Ainissesthai made a bargain with Vampyre Queen Carling—without knowing what she would ask from him in return. But when Rune attempts to make good on his debt, he finds a woman on the edge.
Recently, Carling's Power has become erratic, forcing her followers to flee in fear. Despite the danger, Rune is drawn to the ailing Queen and decides to help her find a cure for the serpent's kiss—the vampyric disease that's killing her.
With their desire for each other escalating just as quickly as Carling's instability spirals out of control, the sentinel and the Queen will have to rely on each other if they have any hope of surviving the serpent's kiss . . .
So far Thea Harrison has delivered perfect couple matches, and she definitely didn’t disappoint with Rune and Carling. It’s instantly clear that there is more than simple chemistry between those two and, considering Carling always fascinated me and that I had put my eyes on Rune from the beginning of the series, you can imagine my enthusiasm in reading their book. Our gryphon is just lovable and his flirting and constantly challenging Carling is beyond precious, but they’re in a very bad situation and with time running out for our heroine, you most likely won’t control the tears . . . You should also prepare yourself for some very warming scenes that follow the journey.
I loved the Egyptian mythology, the interesting and different concept of immortality and the various mesmerizing races. Once more, it has been impossible for me not to be compelled by what Thea Harrison offers to her readers. I even got a glimpse of the next couple, which only contributed in pushing my curiosity on the very edge. I guess it won’t be long for me to pick up the next instalment!
Oooh this sounds like my type of book. Will have to check out Book 1 sometime 🙂 I love egyptian mythology and my paranormal romances!
Chanzie @ Mean Who You Are.
Egyptian mythology is a peculiarity of this instalment, but the others have equally powerful myths to enjoy and every single race is an enchanting discovery! I really hope you'll start the read, Chanzie, Dragon Bound (Book #1) is great, I had some amazing laughs and sighs with that one! 😉
*hangs head* THarrison has been on my TBR for awhile but I haven't gotten around to reading one of her books yet. Don't see much Egyptian mythology, might have to pick this series.
I bought the first 2 books in the series in this collection because I just love the covers but I haven't tried them yet but I'm curious. I keep hearing amazing things about the series and I love mythology! thanks for the review!
There is a good one in this instalment, but I suggest you to read the series from the beginning. You're going to have a very great time! 😉
I LOVED the first two instalments and I hope you'll pick them up soon, Melliane! Thea Harrison has created some of the most fascinating races and myths to read about. I always end up having a fantastic time with this series 🙂
Oh, I remember you reviewing one of the previous books. Glad you are enjoying them so highly. 🙂
I can already tell I would like the romance in this one. Haven't heard of the series before but I love the sound of all the mythology and other elements!
You remember correctly, Melissa! 🙂 I reviewed both the first two instalments in the series and, indeed, I'm highly enjoying every book!
It's an exciting paranormal romance series, Alise. Hope you'll give it a go!
