One of the cutest gifts I’ve ever received came from my sister. Not that surprised since she clearly knows me quite well, hehe. New colours to try and a colouring book? Way to make a big sis super happy! Let’s see if I can show you how much I enjoyed it by sharing some pictures I coloured from Shades of Kawaii by Miss Wah.
How cute is that cover and how much you want to squish the characters on it grab the book?
The honest challenge was picking up the image to colour first. They are all SO terribly cute that I wanted to colour them all at once! It’s true that I usually prefer using pencils, but since I got this beautiful set of colouring felt pens, I thought why not? Also, the illustrations in this book just call for some pens and markers and, just as predicted, every single one of them was a pleasure to bring to life with some vibrant colours!
Who’d like a cup of coffee or chocolate? This is one of my personal faves, something I love—and crave—that not only shows me it loves me back, but also offers me some treats! Let’s face it, it does make you wanna come for more . . . and that’s exactly what I did by turning page and working on another one 😛
Alright, technically two, but I dare you say you’re not pleased to see them both—please, don’t hurt my feelings! *chews her nails* I don’t know about you, but I really like when simplicity works like this. You don’t necessarily have to make things too elaborate to make them shine and, more importantly, put a smile on your face.
These little guys here made me smile for some reason during the whole colouring process, which just made my time with this book even more fun! I’m particularly pleased with how this picture turned out and the colour combination I ended up choosing, hope you guys like it as well 🙂
Shade of Kawaii is the perfect choice to relax and have the nicest time with some truly adorable characters, just be sure to follow the tip given by the illustrator and use a piece of thin card underneath each page while you colour. I was honestly ready to do that before reading the tip inside the book because I was already afraid the pens would pass through the pages—and they do—but I can assure you that if you do this, it totally protects the next picture. Kudos to Miss Wah for the warning, though, and for her artistic skills. There are other two Shades of Kawaii volumes and I totally wanna put my hands on them!!
