I only wanted a tattoo. A mark on my body to remind me of who I used to be. Something to hold onto when I started my penance for all the things I’d done wrong, the bad choices I’d made by the time I turned nineteen. Instead, I found a night of possibility, of truth, of hope for the future. And the most intense physical connection I’ve ever had.
The only one I’ve ever had, and one I will never forget.
Trey . . .
When she walked into my tattoo shop, I knew she was like me. Harley had secrets. She had a messed-up past, and things she wanted to run from, or forget ever happened. I couldn’t let her go. So we agreed on one night–to spend it together wandering around the city, getting to know each other, the clock ticking because we knew tomorrow would bring an end to the possibility of an us.
Unless tonight was only the start.
How can one night be the start of something when tomorrow it has to end?
I discovered this novella thanks to a steamy teaser shared from a blogger friend of mine. I swooned commented on it and then my friend told me it was actually free and that I needed to grab it. Now, if someone who knows your taste in books recommends you one that is also free, would you honestly refuse? And with just one click, here it is!
The Start of Us certainly appears like the beginning of something forbidden and deliciously addictive . . . Admit it, just for that you could already fall for it, couldn’t you? It’s true that we have just hints of Harley and Trey’s pasts and their addictions, but they’re enough to give us an idea of what we would embark into in case we decide to explore it further. And I dare you to read of the night told here and not want to!
Definitely a very good introduction to a series that got me intrigued, and more than ready to find out everything about its characters!
I've heard great things about this series and this author, Silvia! I'm glad you got such pleasure from a freebie. 😉 I'm going to have to read it soon – because I one-clicked it too!
I've seen this book around a lot, all positive reviews. I'll try to grab it on Amazon (hopefully as a freebie hehe) 😉 Thanks for your thoughts!!
This sounds yummy, and yeah I would totally snag this if it was free, no matter how big my tbr pile is!
I picked this one up just recently too! A blogger I follow was raving about the series and yeah just can't resist that! lol Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Ooo, good to hear it was free and that you enjoyed it so! 🙂
Oh it's nice. I'm always anxious about novellas and I usually only read the ones about the author I already follow because it's quite tricky sometomes but I should try more right? I think I'll wait for reviews of the full book. thanks for the review!
Ooooh I just went and grabbed it! This is the second fab review I have read about this one. Thanks for the tip 🙂 Great review Silvia!!

Yeah, it doesn't happen very often to find such a pleasurable freebie, so I'm glad as well! Of course, I'm quite happy you one-clicked it and I can't wait to read your thoughts on it 🙂
It's still free, Melissa, go girl! 😉
I'm happy to report that this novella is still free! Soooo, any one-click happening right now? 😛
Was that Naomi by any chance? Because that's how I found about this series out 🙂
I really did, now I'm curious to see how things develop in the next instalments…
Never underestimate the power of a novella, I learned that a long time ago. I know it's tricky because of their length, but there are novellas very well developed and structured that draw you into the story and make you attached to the characters as strongly as a novel does. So yeah, I would try a few more and see how it goes 🙂
I'm happy to hear that, Chanzie! Hope you enjoy it 🙂
Bwaha YES! It was! Dang girl is GOOD! lol
*grins sheepishly* Rushed to amazon to one clickie and was told I already own it..bwahahaha! Hmm, my tbr pile may or may not be slightly out of control!
Haha, I suspected it, she is just THAT good! 😉
LOL If it makes you feel any better, l experienced that with another title *dang* and I think it's something common that happens at least once in a bookworm life, hehe!
Now I hope you get the rest of them, because you know I loved the next two! Great review Silvia!
Naomi @ Nomi’s Paranormal Palace
I really couldn't resist after reading your teaser and you telling me this one was actually FREE! I'm also aware of how much you loved book #1 and #2, and it may take a while for me to read them (we should be able have a 24/7 time-reading!), but I definitely plan to! 😉
