The fight for survival begins.
An ancient prophecy warns of a girl destined to cause the extinction of the vampire race.
So when 17-year-old Axelia falls into a sacred well filled with blood and emerges a vampire, the immortal empire believes she is this legendary destroyer. Hunted by soldiers and mercenaries, Axelia and her reluctant ally, the vampire bladesmith Lucas, must battle to survive.
How will she convince the empire that she is just an innocent teenager-turned bloodsucker and not a creature of destruction? And if she cannot, can a vampire who is afraid of bugs summon the courage to fight a nation of immortals?
After a first look at the cover (love at first sight) and having read the summary, I definitely was expecting something great, but such an amazing revelation? Not at all. And believe me, it’s with a huge pleasure that I can tell you this is the first instalment of what is announced like a captivated, unique story with a new kind of heroine who is gonna blow your mind!
One of the most fluid stories I’ve ever read with strong characters, action everywhere, unexpected events and OMG what terribly good cliffhangers! Every chapter of this book has one and, as much as a masochist I can sound, I’m a huge fan of cliffhangers. They are what bring you to the edge of pure desperation to find out more and because of that, you won’t ever stop reading and the excitement you feel all along it’s the reason you will crave for the next instalment. So, what kills me? It’s waiting for the next book, of course!
🙂 You could get the eBook, if you read those, too. I much prefer a paperback in my hands (always had, always will), but sometimes eBooks are kind of a necessity…
I'm going to review the sequel, I Am Forever, next month, stay tuned! 😉
I so wanna read this book but my library doesn't have it yet! Arrrgghhhhh!! Thanks to your review, I am even more anxious to read it! Cliffhangers!! =)
