Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another . . .
Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.
Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions . . . but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together . . . finally become one.

Goosebumps, chills, heart thumping fast and giggles that won’t leave you for weeks even after you finished the read. Lover at Last is absolutely the most intense book of this series and so is Qhuinn and Blay relationship. Those two broke my heart so many times during the series that I lost count and still, I kept cheering them always and unconditionally. Let’s be honest, part of their charm has always been that after all, making us going crazy and struggling for their so wanted happiness. And believe me, here you have plenty to struggle for . . . I cried—real tears—and found myself breathless one moment and speechless the next one. There were moments of fear, trepidation, sadness/joy/sadness/WTH, and I was captivated the entire time. No words can make justice to the passion, the sensuality—oh boy, the sensuality!—and the sweetness of Qhuay. I simply couldn’t have asked for a better book!

Usually the non-brotherhood parts aren’t so much . . . shall we say hot ravishing? I mean, they’re surely interesting and help to have a complete vision of the whole plot, but can we say that we find them particularly wondrous? Well, hear me out, I started dreaming about Xcor way too much and picturing Assail everywhere. Trez? I always liked him, but never thought of him in a please-stay-and-show-me-more kind of way. Now? I really don’t know which one of those three males I’m anxiously waiting to read more about!

Seriously, what’s with the giggling? Somebody stop me, not. Sensual, sweet, heartbreaking, exciting, unbelievable. Lover at Last is truly and deeply exquisite!

Ooo, I love when all those things happen in the same book for me. 😀 So glad you enjoyed it. I've heard amazing things of this series and author. I do need to get to them one of these days. 🙂 Thank you!

  2. This happens in every instalment, it's a peculiarity of the series, but in this book I found the various side stories particularly involving. I LOVED that! Then, Qhuinn and Blay have the main, big credit for making me feel so in ecstasy, of course. 😉
I hope you'll read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series one day, it's really amazing! I devoured all the eleven books in a couple of months and I'm in a desperate need of the next instalment…as it happens every time I finish a BDB book 😛
